Academic Status: Computer Science Master's student (Bachelor of Science, Computer Science)
Bio: My parents bought their first PC in 1988 (an IBM PC compatible something or other, it's in my garage and it still runs) that we loaded up with games. I used to break the machine and "fix it" to do what I wanted it to do in the first place. I learned the cheat hacks for the games and learned how not to write code from the rather horrible examples on the PC back then. After that, we continued buying computers; the first one with a modem we actually got somewhere around 1992 to go along with the brand spanking new AOL account. Cementing my love of computers, I got a job at a webhosting company as tech support.
Skills: Programming (java, PHP, Bash, Perl), learning 3D modeling (Milkshape, Maya), learning Unreal editor and script, Photo manipulation (Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks), level design, Internet protocols (HTTP, FTP, Telnet, POP, SMTP), website design and developement (HTML, Dreamweaver, FrontPage), databases (MySQL, mSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle), management, training, and a really good creative and technical writer (ex-English major).
My serious hobbies outside of school include icon making, fanfiction writing, reading, writing my novel, playing in the SCA, and a full time hockey fan.
